Our greatest efforts must be directed towards detachment from the things of the world; we must strive to become more spiritual, more luminous, to follow the counsel of the Divine Teaching, to serve the cause of unity and true equality, to be merciful, to reflect the love of the Highest on all men, so that the light of the Spirit shall be apparent in all our deeds, to the end that all humanity shall be united, the stormy sea thereof calmed, and all rough waves disappear from off the surface of life’s ocean henceforth unruffled and peaceful.

I’m getting so excited for the Fast. My wife and I are about to celebrate our first year of marriage next week then only a couple of days later the Fast begins.
It’ll only be my second one, but I’m so excited to have this be something we can share in as husband and wife. I learned so much about myself last year and can only anticipate more growth and introspection with this one.
It has been a really amazing and sometimes challenging year and it will be nice to have my early mornings and clear mind to reflect.
I also will always like how it sort of coincides with Lent.
"You must, therefore, look toward each other and then toward mankind with the utmost love and kindness… if man lives up to these divine commandments, this world of earth shall be transformed into the world of heaven, and this material sphere shall be converted into a paradise of glory. It is my hope that you may become successful in this high calling so that like brilliant lamps you may cast light upon the world of humanity and quicken and stir the body of existence like unto a spirit of life. This is eternal glory. This is everlasting felicity. This is immortal life. This is heavenly attainment. This is being created in the image and likeness of God."
—The Promulgation of Universal Peace, Abdul Baha
How do you make sure you always have time for prayer, reflection and studying the texts each day?
I struggle with this from time to time and wanted to see if anyone has advice on changing my environment to make sure I get in some reading each day.
Hope anyone impacted by Sandy is safe and those not affected can spare some time to help those who were.
I don’t think I’ve ever quoted MLK before, ever, but I suppose now is a better time than ever…
"We must rapidly begin the shift from a "thing-oriented" society to a "person-oriented society."
